Short Movies By Disney Pixar
There are lots of short animations on DVD that 4 year olds will love. If you have a 4 year old who loves the Disney movie Cars, they will love the DVD of Mater's Tall Tales. It a run time of about 40 minutes. It is a spin off from the Disney Pixar movie Cars and has several different animations lasting about 10 minutes each with the characters from cars.
It's a perfect length DVD to put on for kids around age 4. Not too long before their attention span fades but long enough to keep them entertained for quite a while. |
Pixar Short Films
Pixar have also put together a DVD of short films which includes lots fo shorts with characters from the different Pixar movie.
They include Mater's Ghostlight (another spin off from Cars which is also included in the Cars Toons DVD above) and Mike's New Car (a spin off from the character Mike in Monsters Inc) and You can also check on full feature length films for 4 year olds. |
Peppa Pig
Peppa Pig is still one of my 4 year olds favourite TV programmes that you can get on DVD. He enjoys watching the DVDs we have and so does my niece. Peppa is one of my favourite children's TV programmes too. The episodes are short so its great if you just need five or ten minutes of peace and quiet. Or, you can watch a few for a longer viewing.
Tom and Jerry Cartoons
My 4 year old boy loves Tom and Jerry cartoons and wants to watch these DVDs over and over again.
Charlie and Lola DVDs
Charlie and Lola are the sweet simple stories of an older brother who has a younger sister, Lola who's very funny. My son enjoys the books and the TV programmes too. I love the portrayal of the brother/sister relationship between Charlie and Lola.
Fireman Sam DVDs
Fireman Sam is another one of my 4 year old boy's top favourite DVDs. His 4 year old cousin (who's a girl) loves it too. They have recently changed Fireman Sam from an animation to a cartoon. I prefer the older DVDs but my son has no preference.
Bob the Builder
Bob the Builder is another TV programme we get asked for again and again and you can get DVDs with Bob the Builder on too.
Backyardigans
The backyardigans is about a group of creatures who have adventures in their backyard through exploring their imagination. There's lots of songs and singing which my not be to everybody's tastes but my son enjoys it and its funny now to watch him as he tries to sing along. The tunes are very catchy and sometimes I can't get them out of my head.
